2nd Annual PCP-ICoP Symposium

November 6, 2025 | One day online event | Southern and Northern hemisphere

In a time when health systems worldwide are called to be more compassionate, inclusive, and responsive, person-centred practice stands as a guiding principle for transformative change.

The 2025 PCP-ICoP Symposium: Carrying the Light and Growing Stronger Together – Person-Centred Practice Through Changing Times is a global gathering of scholars, practitioners, educators, and leaders committed to embedding person-centred values across health, education, and social care.

  • Now in its second edition, this symposium will showcase the latest developments from the Person-Centred Practice International Community of Practice (PCP-ICoP), highlighting cross-national research, capacity-building initiatives, and implementation strategies.

Through Keynote sessions, oral presentations, and e-poster presentations, the program will explore how the Person-centred Practice Framework (PCPF) is being applied in diverse contexts to challenge structural barriers, foster equity, and build cultures of dignity, compassion, and mutual respect. Attendees will engage in vibrant discussions that bridge theory, evidence, and lived experience—an approach that is at the core of the PCP-ICoP ethos.

This year’s event will also serve as a springboard for strategic collaboration across sectors, regions, and roles. Whether you are a frontline clinician, academic, policy advocate, student, or community leader, this symposium offers a dynamic platform to contribute to a growing global movement for person-centred systems.

We warmly invite you to join us online on the 6th November for learning, reflection, and action.

  • a. Beyond the Buzzword: This theme reclaims person-centredness not as a soft add-on, but as a radical, relational, and ethical imperative that challenges entrenched hierarchies, disrupts institutional power structures, and reimagines systems around human values.

    b. From Innovation to Impact: Focusing on real-world application, these sessions will explore how creative and forward-thinking ideas are translated into sustainable, person-centred solutions that improve care, education, and organisational culture.

    c. Prioritising People and Communities: With a spotlight on trust, relationships, and local wisdom, this theme invites reflections on how people’s voices—particularly those from marginalised communities—can inform care, shape policy, and co-design services that are contextually grounded and socially just.

    d. Crossing Borders: These sessions will explore how person-centred values travel across geographic, cultural, and disciplinary boundaries, offering pathways for decolonising practice and embracing culturally safe, responsive, and inclusive care.

    e. Digital Tools to Humanise Care: Technology is not the opposite of humanity—it can be its enabler. This theme examines how digital innovations can be intentionally designed and deployed to support connection, enhance dignity, and promote truly human-centred experiences.
